Property for sale in Cadiz
Cadiz is possibly the oldest city in Europe, sits on a small, narrow, peninsula of only10.58 Km (6.5 mi) long. Today Cadiz has a population of 157,000 inhabitants. Its closest neighbour is San Fernando, the only connection of land to the rest of Europe. The almost island positioning of Cadiz and its location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean has always kept the city as a major focal point in history. The old Centre of the city is reknown for its charm and attraction with its telling architecture and historical heritage, even some of the city's 18th century walls still stand, such as the Landward Gate.
Cadiz looks quite moorish, with narrow streets and small squares with intermittent parks with stunning panoramic views of the Cadiz bay. The city is amasingly relaxed by nature, here you can wile away the hours in a picturesque corner of the city, watching the views of the Mediterranean of the Atlantic. Cadiz remains unexplicably welcoming and non-threatening, which is suprising from a city which managed to withstand a seige by Napoleon and his army, Some say that it is the shape of the city, in that you cannot get lost for more than two blocks, you come across an ocean!
